Baked French Toast (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

01 - 4 tablespoons butter, unsalted
02 - 1 pound of Italian or sourdough bread
03 - 8 large eggs
04 - 3 cups half-and-half
05 - 3/4 cup brown sugar, light
06 - 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
07 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
08 - 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
09 - 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, ground
10 - 2 ounces nuts, chopped
11 - 1/4 cup flour, all-purpose
12 - Maple syrup for topping
13 - Fresh berries for garnish

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray
02 - Rip bread into small chunks and place them in the baking dish
03 - Beat eggs with half-and-half, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg until completely combined
04 - Pour the egg mixture over bread, gently push bread down, wrap and chill in fridge overnight
05 - Combine nuts, flour, brown sugar, spices and butter until it forms small crumbles
06 - Sprinkle crumble on top and cook at 350°F for about 45-50 minutes until it turns golden brown
