Place bread halves cut side up on a baking sheet. Evenly distribute the garlic butter mixture across the surface.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until edges turn lightly crisp.

Remove bread from oven. Immediately top with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, if desired.
