Zucchini Teriyaki (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Veggie Mix

01 - 1 medium sweet onion, roughly diced
02 - 3 medium zucchini, sliced

→ Sauce Elements

03 - 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
04 - 2 tablespoons cooking oil
05 - 1 tablespoon soy sauce

→ Spices and Toppings

06 - 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, toasted
07 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
08 - 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes, adjust to taste

→ Optional Extras

09 - 1 tablespoon butter, stir in at the end for added richness

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Cut the zucchini into 2-inch pieces and then slice each chunk into 6 thinner wedges. You want easy-to-eat, flavor-absorbing pieces.
02 - Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Once you see it shimmer, you're ready to cook.
03 - Toss the zucchini slices and onion chunks into the warm skillet. Let them soften up and start sizzling, about 2 minutes.
04 - Mix in the soy sauce, teriyaki, black pepper, and chili flakes. You'll see the sauces thicken and coat everything nicely.
05 - Keep stirring and cooking for 4-5 additional minutes. Whether you like a slight crunch or ultra-soft veggies, cook as long as you need.
06 - Take the pan off the heat. Finish it off with sesame seeds for a nutty kick and, if you're feeling fancy, mix in butter for extra creaminess.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Goes great on the side with grilled fish, chicken, or a bowl of steaming rice
02 - For a heartier dish, toss in shrimp, chicken, or tofu while cooking
