Get your oven going at 220C/425F or turn broiler to high with the rack about 30cm/12 inches down from the top.

Dump beans onto the tray, splash with 1 tablespoon oil, add garlic, salt and pepper. Mix everything together.

Spread the beans in neat rows on your tray, making sure they're snug against each other.

Scatter breadcrumbs over beans followed by parmesan. Finish with a drizzle of your leftover oil.

Pop in oven for 15 minutes or under broiler for 8 minutes until the cheese turns golden brown.

Lift carefully with a spatula onto your serving plate and enjoy right away.
