# What You'll Need:

08 - Almond flavoring (1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon, if you want).
09 - Royal Icing, Simple Glaze, or Cookie Frosting for the tops.
10 - Various sprinkles for the finishing touch.

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Stir flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl until mixed.
02 - Mix butter and sugar on high for about 3 minutes till fluffy. Throw in egg, vanilla, and almond extract if using, beat another minute.
03 - Slowly blend dry stuff into wet ingredients on low. Toss in an extra spoon of flour if it feels too sticky.
04 - Split dough in two, roll each between parchment to 1/4-inch thick. Put them on top of each other and chill for 1-2 hours.
05 - Use cutters on the cold dough. Bake at 350°F for 11-12 minutes until edges turn slightly golden.
06 - Let sit for 5 minutes on the pan, then move to a wire rack to cool completely before adding your chosen topping.
