01 -
Combine cream cheese, diced jalapeños, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Mix thoroughly until smooth and evenly incorporated.
02 -
Spread the jalapeño cream cheese mixture evenly over one slice of bread. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top, then place the second slice of bread over to form a sandwich.
03 -
Spread half of the softened butter over the top surface of the sandwich. Press half of the finely shredded parmesan into the butter so it adheres fully.
04 -
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat for several minutes until evenly hot.
05 -
Place the sandwich into the preheated pan with the buttered parmesan side facing down.
06 -
While the first side cooks, spread the remaining butter onto the top of the sandwich and press in the remaining parmesan.
07 -
Grill for 4–5 minutes or until the underside turns deep golden brown and the cheese crust lifts easily off the pan.
08 -
Carefully turn the sandwich and cook the second side for an additional 4–5 minutes or until both sides are crisp and golden.
