# Needed Ingredients:

→ Danish Pastry

01 - 1 box puff pastry sheets, thawed (contains 2 sheets)

→ Cream Cheese Filling

02 - 8 ounces full-fat cream cheese, softened
03 - 1/3 cup granulated sugar
04 - 1 egg yolk
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
06 - 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
07 - 1 pinch salt

→ Assembly and Topping

08 - 1 cup cherry pie filling
09 - 1 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
10 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice, mixed with cherry topping (optional)
11 - 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
12 - 1/4 cup sliced almonds (optional garnish)

→ Glaze

13 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar
14 - 1-2 teaspoons milk
15 - 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Blend softened cream cheese with granulated sugar, egg yolk, vanilla extract, lemon zest (if using), and salt until smooth and creamy.
02 - Unfold thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into even squares and gently score an inner square on each, avoiding cutting all the way through.
03 - Spoon a portion of the cream cheese filling onto the center of each pastry square. Layer with cherry pie filling mixed with almond extract and lemon juice if desired. Brush the pastry edges with beaten egg.
04 - Optional: Transfer assembled pastries to a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to help retain their shape.
05 - Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (205°C) for 15–20 minutes, or until pastries are puffed and golden brown.
06 - Mix powdered sugar with 1–2 teaspoons milk and vanilla extract until a smooth, pourable glaze forms.
07 - Allow baked pastries to cool slightly. Drizzle with glaze and sprinkle with sliced almonds before serving.

# Supplementary Details:

01 - For flakier results, ensure puff pastry remains cold before baking. Adjust the amount of cherry topping to preference and avoid overfilling.
