Penne With Peas And Bacon (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - ¾ pound pasta tubes
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
03 - ½ yellow onion, chopped into tiny bits
04 - 1 cup frozen peas
05 - 6 thick bacon strips, diced small
06 - ¼ cup heavy cream

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Fill a big pot with water, add salt and bring to a boil. Toss in the pasta. When it's half done, drop the frozen peas in too. Cook everything for 1 minute less than what the box says for a firm bite.
02 - Heat olive oil in a wide pan over medium-high heat. Toss in the tiny onion pieces and bacon bits, cooking until they're crispy but not burnt.
03 - Strain the pasta and peas, then dump them into your bacon-onion mix. Turn down the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream. Add a splash more cream if it looks too dry.
04 - Get it to the table while it's still steaming hot. Let everyone sprinkle on as much cheese as they want.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Don't let it sit around - pasta gets mushier the longer you wait
02 - Goes great in wide, deep pasta bowls
03 - There's an old Italian saying: 'You don't make pasta wait, pasta makes you wait'
