Fill a big pot with water, add salt and bring to a boil. Toss in the pasta. When it's half done, drop the frozen peas in too. Cook everything for 1 minute less than what the box says for a firm bite.

Heat olive oil in a wide pan over medium-high heat. Toss in the tiny onion pieces and bacon bits, cooking until they're crispy but not burnt.

Strain the pasta and peas, then dump them into your bacon-onion mix. Turn down the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream. Add a splash more cream if it looks too dry.

Get it to the table while it's still steaming hot. Let everyone sprinkle on as much cheese as they want.
