Cheese Sandwich with Pesto (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Bread & Spread

01 - Two thick pieces of rustic or sourdough bread
02 - Butter for coating

→ Dairy & Meat

03 - Half a ball of fresh mozzarella
04 - One handful of grated cheese (try cheddar, mozzarella, or gruyere)
05 - Three thin slices of prosciutto

→ Flavors & Seasoning

06 - Two spoonfuls of basil pesto
07 - 4-5 fresh leaves of basil
08 - Salt and pepper as needed

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Start heating your pan on medium-low. Grab a slice of bread, smear butter on one side, then put it down on your counter with the buttered side facing down.
02 - Add your fillings in this order - grated cheese, prosciutto slices, chunks of fresh mozzarella, basil, and a dollop of pesto. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then cap with your second bread slice. Butter the top side that's facing up.
03 - Drop your sandwich into the warm pan and let it cook gently for around 5 minutes per side. You want a nice crunchy golden outside and melted, gooey cheese inside.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Mixing shredded and fresh cheese makes the perfect gooey middle
02 - Cooking slowly on lower heat gives you that crispy outside everyone loves
03 - Don't worry about specific cheeses - use what's in your fridge
