01 - 1 wheel brie cheese (8 to 12 oz)
02 - 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
03 - 1 to 2 tablespoons honey
04 - 1 to 2 tablespoons fig preserves
05 - 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
06 - Black pepper, to taste
07 - 1 large egg, beaten

08 - Coarse sugar, for sprinkling
09 - Chopped walnuts or pecans

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry into a square large enough to wrap the brie.
03 - Place the brie wheel in the center of the pastry and score the top with a crosshatch pattern using a small knife.
04 - Spread fig preserves evenly on top of the brie, drizzle with honey, sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves, and season lightly with black pepper. Add chopped walnuts or pecans if desired.
05 - Fold the puff pastry up and over the brie, pressing gently to seal the edges and fully enclose the cheese.
06 - Brush the entire wrapped pastry surface with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sugar if using.
07 - Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and crisp.
08 - Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving alongside crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh fruit.

# Supplementary Details:

01 - Chill the puff pastry briefly after assembly if it becomes soft to maintain a crisp, flaky texture during baking.
