Preheat oven to 175°C. Combine finely crushed Oreo cookies with melted butter in a bowl and mix until well incorporated.

Line a standard muffin tin with cupcake liners. Spoon approximately one tablespoon of the Oreo mixture into each liner and press firmly to form an even base.

In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese with granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add sour cream and continue mixing until smooth. If using, gently fold in mini chocolate chips.

Distribute the cheesecake filling evenly over each prepared crust, filling nearly to the top. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until centres are set but still slightly wobbly.

Allow cookie cups to cool completely at room temperature, then transfer to the refrigerator to chill thoroughly. Once cold, top each with whipped cream and a sprinkle of crushed Oreo cookies.
