Grilled Beef Patty Melt (Printable Format)

Tender beef mixed with sweet onions and gooey Swiss cheese, sandwiched between crispy, buttery rye bread slices.

# Needed Ingredients:

01 - 5 tbsp butter, unsalted
02 - 2 big yellow onions, cut into thin slices
03 - 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
04 - 3 tsp avocado oil
05 - 1 pound ground chuck, 80/20 fat ratio
06 - 6 oz swiss cheese, shredded
07 - 6 hefty slices rye bread

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Put onions with butter in pan over medium heat covered for 5 minutes, then keep stirring now and then on low for 30-35 minutes until they turn deep brown. Add vinegar to loosen bits from pan
02 - Make 3 burger patties and add salt and pepper right before they hit the pan. Warm up your griddle to 375-400°F
03 - Add oil and cook each patty about 3 minutes on both sides
04 - Spread butter on bread pieces and brown them on the griddle for 1-2 minutes each side
05 - Layer cheese, browned onions, and a burger patty on each toasted bread slice. Complete the sandwich and dig in

01 - You can make each part up to 2 days ahead if you keep them apart
02 - Once put together, they'll stay good in the fridge for 3 days
