Pomegranate Jelly (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

01 - 7 cups granulated sugar.
02 - 5 cups of fresh pomegranate juice.
03 - 1.75 oz pack of powdered pectin.
04 - 1 tablespoon butter if desired.

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Give 4 jars and their lids a good wash in soapy warm water. Dry them with a towel.
02 - Blend pomegranate seeds and strain to collect juice if you're using fresh fruit.
03 - In a large pot, combine pectin, juice, and butter. Heat it up until you see bubbles.
04 - Warm up the clean jars by keeping them in hot water.
05 - Dump all the sugar in at once. Stir and heat until it bubbles again, cooking for about 2 1/2 minutes.
06 - Take the pot off the heat. Scoop out the foam from the top layer.
07 - Pour the mix into the warm jars, leaving 1/4 inch on top. Wipe the rims clean and secure the lids.
08 - Boil the filled jars in water for 10 minutes with a lid on. Let them cool until sealed.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Adding butter helps reduce foam.
02 - Check how your lids work — some don't need pre-heating.
03 - If freezing, make sure to leave extra room in the jars.
