Mix water and cranberries in a big pot. Heat until boiling, then turn down to a gentle simmer. Let cook for 20 minutes until you see berries bursting and getting mushy.

Dump the mixture into a sieve or use a nut milk bag. Push down or give it a good squeeze to get all the juice out.

Mix in your chosen sweetener until it tastes good to you. For regular sugar, warm it up again so it melts properly.
