Crispy Fried American Bananas (Printable Format)

Golden, crispy American bananas coated in a light batter, perfect as a sweet, crunchy treat with your favorite toppings.

# Needed Ingredients:

→ Bananas

01 - 4 overripe American bananas

→ Frying Batter

02 - 1 egg white
03 - 65 grams all-purpose flour, sifted
04 - 32 grams cornstarch
05 - 2.5 grams baking powder
06 - 120 millilitres ice-cold water
07 - 15 millilitres neutral oil

→ For Frying

08 - Sufficient vegetable oil for deep frying

→ Optional Garnish

09 - Powdered sugar for dusting
10 - Maple syrup to serve
11 - Chocolate sauce to serve

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Cut the overripe bananas into 2.5 centimetre pieces and set aside.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the egg white, sifted all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, ice-cold water, and 1 tablespoon of oil until a smooth, lump-free batter forms.
03 - Gently fold the banana pieces into the batter until evenly coated.
04 - In a small pot, pour vegetable oil to a depth of 5–7 centimetres and heat over high heat until smoking slightly or reaching 180°C.
05 - Using a slotted spoon, transfer battered banana pieces into the hot oil in batches. Fry, turning occasionally, until deeply golden and crisp on all sides.
06 - Remove fried bananas with a slotted spoon and drain on a plate lined with paper towels. Repeat frying the remaining batches.
07 - Dust the fried bananas with powdered sugar. Serve warm with optional maple syrup or chocolate sauce.
