Lay parchment over baking trays. Put Crispix in a microwaveable bowl.

Mix vanilla, syrup, sugar, and butter together in a pan. Stir as you boil for 90-120 seconds. Toss in baking soda and let it fluff up.

Drizzle caramel on Crispix and toss lightly till coated. Heat in the microwave for a minute, give it a stir, and go again 3 more times.

Spread the coated cereal on the lined trays. Sprinkle salt on top. Let it cool till firm and then break into smaller chunks.
