Chicken Potato Bake (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

01 - 3 tbsp unsalted butter.
02 - 8 oz mushrooms, cut into slices.
03 - 1 cup diced onions.
04 - 2 tbsp regular flour.
05 - 1 cup milk (or cream).
06 - Black pepper, ground fresh, as needed.
07 - Table salt, as needed.
08 - 2 cups cooked potatoes, cut in cubes.
09 - 2 cups cooked chicken, diced small.
10 - 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs (if you want).
11 - 2 tbsp melted unsalted butter (if you want).
12 - 1 cup grated cheddar or Monterey Jack (if you want).

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Set your oven to 350 F/180 C/Gas Mark 4. Give a 2-quart baking dish a light coating of grease.
02 - Melt butter in big skillet on medium heat. Toss in onions and mushrooms, cook them until soft and slightly brown, around 8 minutes.
03 - Mix flour into the pan and let it cook for 1-2 minutes. Slowly pour in milk while stirring until it gets thick, about 3-5 minutes. Add salt and pepper how you like it.
04 - Put chicken, potatoes, and the mushroom gravy mix into your greased baking dish.
05 - Sprinkle with either breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter or a layer of grated cheese.
06 - Let it bake for 25-30 minutes until it's hot and bubbling.
