Grate the orange skin first, then squeeze half to get 1/4 cup juice.

Put aside 1/2 cup cranberries to mix in later for some crunch.

Mix the other cranberries, water, juice, and sugar together in a pot over medium heat until bubbling.

Turn down the heat and let it bubble gently for about 15 minutes, giving it a stir now and then, until it's thicker and berries pop.

Take off the heat, add the saved cranberries, orange zest, and vanilla. It'll get thicker as it cools down.
