Nun's Puffs Classic Pastry (Printable Format)

Airy golden puffs, crisp-edged and perfect with a hint of sweetness or a drizzle of honey.

# Needed Ingredients:

→ Dough

01 - 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
02 - 1 cup whole milk
03 - 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
04 - 4 large eggs
05 - 1/2 to 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (optional, for added sweetness)

→ Topping and Serve

06 - Granulated sugar, for sprinkling
07 - Honey, optional for drizzling
08 - Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
09 - Fresh fruit and/or berries, for garnish (optional)

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Thoroughly grease a standard muffin tin, including the rims, with oil.
02 - In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the milk and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
03 - Add the flour all at once and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon over low heat until the mixture forms a cohesive ball and pulls away from the sides.
04 - Remove from heat and allow the dough to cool for 5 minutes.
05 - Add the eggs one at a time, stirring thoroughly after each addition until smooth. The dough will break up initially, but will become smooth and glossy as mixed.
06 - Use a spoon to evenly distribute the dough among the muffin cups. Generously sprinkle the tops with granulated sugar.
07 - Bake on the center rack for approximately 30 minutes, or until the puffs are well risen and golden brown.
08 - Remove from the oven and allow to briefly cool before serving. Drizzle with honey and accompany with whipped cream and fresh fruit or berries if desired.
