Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Thoroughly grease a standard muffin tin, including the rims, with oil.

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the milk and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.

Add the flour all at once and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon over low heat until the mixture forms a cohesive ball and pulls away from the sides.

Remove from heat and allow the dough to cool for 5 minutes.

Add the eggs one at a time, stirring thoroughly after each addition until smooth. The dough will break up initially, but will become smooth and glossy as mixed.

Use a spoon to evenly distribute the dough among the muffin cups. Generously sprinkle the tops with granulated sugar.

Bake on the center rack for approximately 30 minutes, or until the puffs are well risen and golden brown.

Remove from the oven and allow to briefly cool before serving. Drizzle with honey and accompany with whipped cream and fresh fruit or berries if desired.
